Hey Guys,
Sorry about the time between posts but it has been one of them months. My computer crashed, and I lost everything, and then the loaner died. Then I got the creeping crud from Typhoid Stevens and spent the holidays coughing my head off, and then .... well you get the picture.
I do have a lot of things that I am thankful for though. First, Ann and I are getting over this crud. You don't know how much you hate coughing until you have a coughing spasm and shart yourself. Not telling who did this but I really hate when this happens. This stuff ruins your rest, your meals, your family time, even work. I will be glad when it is totally gone!!!
2008 has been a year of ups and downs. Family wise, things are good. Ann and I celebrated our 31st wedding aniversity. I don't know where the time went but it sure doesn't seem that long. I will tell you a little secret, if it wasn't for Ann I would be long gone from this old world. She straightened this wild child out and for that I am eternally grateful. I am thankful for my sons. They have grown up to be two pretty good young men, and some damn good musicians. 2009 should be a big year for them and Days Off Screen. Hopefully the folks in the music industry that are starting to ask for info about them will make the move and sign this bunch of talented young men to a contract. My extended family is fairly healthy, and my radio station family is doing good. At the first of the year, we were all worried about Rev. Sims because he had just had his heart surgery but he has completely recovered and I am grateful for that. Brother Wyatt also had a few weeks of scary health problems when they found out he had the sugars, but his wonderful wife Katie has made sure that he has gotten it under control. Emil didn't nearly kill himself climbing down into the Grand Canyon this year, Randy has not wrecked his motorcycle, and John has had a few scary moments on some of his flights as he followed the Blue Hose for us, but he has come through it ok.
The economy has got everyone concerned, but thankfully our local leaders have worked real hard and we are seeing real development start to spring up all over the county. When all these projects come to fruition our county will never be the same.
Oh' well, it's time to watch the ball drop and welcome in the new year!!! We will pick this up in another day or two. I hope that it is a safe and prosperous New Year for all of us!!!
God Bless,
The Big One
